New hotel groups in Sicily: from LVMH to Rocco Forte what’s new in the local hotellerie
New hotel groups in Sicily: the latest important investment was made by the Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton Group, which took over Belmond’s hotels and brand, and, consequently, the Hotel Timeo and the Hotel Villa Sant’Andrea, located in Taormina; Rocco Forte Hotels Group bought the Villa Igiea of Palermo which will become a luxurious resort with 100 rooms and 20 independent luxury villas; finally, Luxury Private Properties Group, owned by Giotti’s family, purchased the Excelsior Hotel in Palermo, which will be added to The Ashbee Hotel in Taormina and the Des Etrangers in Syracuse.
The news is the Lindbergh Hotel Group, a new hotellerie’s reality active also in Sicily with Taormina, Modica and Marina di Butera facilities. By the merge of Eden Hotels + Resorts – owned by Nardo Filippetti – and The Begin Hotels Collections, a new concept was born with 4 collections and 10 facilities distributed in 5 Italian regions. Lindbergh hotels in Sicily, all partners of Sicilia Convention Bureau, are based in Taormina with the Grand Hotel San Pietro (5*L), in Marina di Modica with the Modica Beach Resort (4*) and in Marina di Butera with the Sikania Resort&Spa.
